Stigmata

Published by Little Eye at 3:03 am under Religion

Today I spoke with a Sunday school teacher and asked her what wonderful wisdom she bestowed upon her young teenagers. She responded with the standard stigmata issue. The blood obsessed Catholics have a slew of icons depicting the stigmata of Christ. The religion of peace’s spokes people are diligent in declaring that the holes in the palm of Christ are symbolic. Instructing the youngsters to the reality of the crucifixion, Sunday school teachers point out the nails went between the radius and ulna. That’s the only possible way, without breaking the laws of physics, to suspend a 160 pound deity from a cross who’s preparing to fly into the clouds.

Earlier today at Saint Louis cathedral I listened to Arch Bishop Alfred Hughes pound the “Man can not serve money and God” sermon. Then he asked for money. He said that God had blessed him during a category 5 hurricane and his miraculous evacuation via internal combustion. That’s when he realized what he actually owned didn’t matter. Then he asked for money again.

Yes, I’m with you on this one. I hate the constant begging for money. Tele-evangelists’ drive me up a wall. You can find my mother watching TBN day and night. She barely has enough money to survive, yet she sends money every month to these charlatans’. My God doesn’t have anything to do with these assholes.

Robert you should put a diaper on that kid. Some internet-police type might accuse you of child porn or some such. I know you are going for shock and awe, but you should use some self-preservation. I’m not personally offended in the least…I’m just sayin.

Luckily I can’t be shut down like blogger. I could be reported to the Department of Justice for “exposing” and “exploiting” this child but I would relish that court date. The photo is a work of art from Wojtek Ulrich. The point of me posting it was that the true exploitation should be blatantly obvious. It’s in the minds of millions of children who are taught they are born evil an need to pay for and feel the responsibility of a crucifiction. Whatever you declare your god is or is not, you can not deny original sin with out disavowing the fundamental element of Christianity. There is nothing wrong with that child, she is beautiful and needs no redemption.

Of course there’s nothing wrong with the child. That wasn’t my point. My thinking was more along the lines of some enemy you might have made coming along and making trouble for you. Never mind, I’ll quit worrying about it.

I don’t like those who use God’s name to line their pockets. That was all I was trying to say.

I knew what you meant. I was trying to point out that I have nothing to worry about because there is nothing wrong with the photo, well, except for the stigmata.

    Archbishop Hughes

I thought it was some what ironic in light of the “baby picture” comments that this was Archbishop Hughes latest column.

I would much rather sit through him asking me for money than to this sermon.

Who am I kidding? I get uncomfortable in church no matter the occasion, religion or topics being preached.
